Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains what information Venia Mastering Studio collects when you visit veniamastering.studio, book a service, or contact us — and how that information is used and protected.
Who we are
Venia Mastering Studio is operated by Michael Venia in San Luis Obispo, California. The site is veniamastering.studio. For questions about this policy, email info@veniamastering.studio.
What we collect
- Order & account data — name, email, billing address, and the audio files you upload for mastering. Collected when you place an order or create an account.
- Unfinished checkouts — if you enter your email at checkout but don't finish, the site saves your name, email and cart so it can send you one reminder email with a link back to your order. Saved checkouts are deleted 7 days after their last update.
- Form submissions — name, email, message, and any context you share via the contact form, free-sample form, or newsletter form. If you request a free sample, you may get one follow-up email about a week later.
- Payment data — card details are submitted directly to Stripe; full card numbers are never stored on our servers.
- Usage data — pages visited, referrer, approximate location (from IP), device and browser, collected via Google Analytics through Google Tag Manager.
- Bot-protection signals — Cloudflare Turnstile may collect device signals to verify that form submissions are human.
How we use your information
- To deliver the mastering work you ordered, including communication about revisions and final masters.
- To process payment via Stripe.
- To reply to inquiries you send through our forms.
- To send one reminder if you leave checkout unfinished, and one follow-up after a free-sample request.
- If you opt in, to send occasional newsletters about new releases, tips, or studio updates. You can unsubscribe at any time from the link in any newsletter.
- To detect abuse and protect the site from automated submissions.
- To improve the site and understand which content is useful.
Third-party services
We share data with the following providers strictly to operate the site and deliver our service:
- Stripe — card processing (privacy policy).
- Cloudflare R2 — secure storage of uploaded stem and master files on our own cloud (privacy policy).
- Dropbox — storage of project files and delivery of finished masters (privacy policy).
- Audio engineers — another engineer may work on your project. They receive only the files and details needed for that project.
- Mailchimp — newsletter delivery (privacy policy).
- Google Analytics & Google Tag Manager — site analytics (privacy policy).
- Cloudflare — content delivery, security, and Turnstile bot protection (privacy policy).
- Slack — internal notifications when you place an order or send a form. Webhooks deliver to a private channel; no customer data is exposed publicly.
How long we keep it
Files uploaded through this site are automatically deleted from site storage after 180 days. Order and account records, and working copies of project files kept for delivery and revisions, are retained for as long as needed to provide the service, comply with tax and accounting requirements, and resolve disputes. Newsletter signups are retained until you unsubscribe. Unfinished checkouts are deleted 7 days after their last update. Analytics data is retained for up to 14 months. You may request deletion of your account data at any time by emailing info@veniamastering.studio.
Your rights
If you are a California resident, you have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) including the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to delete it, and the right to opt out of any sale or sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not sell personal information. To exercise any of these rights, email info@veniamastering.studio.
If you are in the EU/EEA or UK, you have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal data under GDPR / UK GDPR. Email us to exercise any of these rights.
Cookies
The site uses cookies to keep you logged in, remember cart contents, run analytics, and protect forms from bots. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though some features (cart, checkout, login) may stop working.
Security
The site runs over HTTPS, payment data is tokenized by Stripe, and large file uploads go to our own cloud storage (Cloudflare R2). We take reasonable precautions to protect your information but cannot guarantee absolute security on the internet.
Changes
We may update this policy as the site evolves. Material changes will be noted on this page with a new revision date.
